Three 100 Hour Training Segments 

Fall Term One, Winter Term Two, Spring Term Three

Join for an immersive deep dive course or

to apply for 200 / 300 hour credentialing with Yoga Alliance. 

The program is organized into three terms.

  • Fall Term One focuses on grounding in lineage to lay a strong foundation in a time honored tradition passed down through many generations.
     

  • Using this foundation, Winter Term Two and Spring Term Three will integrate Yoga into modern living. Yoga is designed to evolve to meet the times and the individual right where they are. Using our foundation as a blueprint we will creatively explore the practice to support Yoga's evolution as a healing and transformative science.  
     

  • Through our cohort model, you will gain deep relationships as you build a community of practice with classmates.

Lay firm ground in this foundational 100 hour course.

Lean into tradition and take on the methods and teachings of Yoga for a lifelong educated and empowered practice. Our focus is inspired by Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Learn the history of this ancient method, the practice and the method of ujjayi, drishti, bandha and the art of vinyasa. In Fall Term One, you will learn how to use the Ashtanga Vinyasa system to creatively sequence and take on the foundational teachings from The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.  Leave this course with the ability to confidently, safely and effectively share a Yoga class.

Winter Term Two: Create

Weekend One: February 2-4, 2024

Weekend Two: February 23-25, 2024

Weekend Three: March 1-3, 2024

Friday 10 AM- 6 PM

Saturday + Sunday 7 AM- 6 PM

Once the foundation is laid, it is time to build and create. Yoga is ever-evolving and designed to meet the times and the practitioner exactly where they are through direct experience. In Winter Term Two, we will learn the science of Yoga with an emphasis on applied anatomy and physiology, the art of sequencing, purposeful prop use and finding your unique voice. 

Spring Term Three: Embody and Transform

Yoga Alliance Certification*

Upon completion of coursework, classroom hours and graduation requirements students may apply for Yoga Alliance certification through the Yoga Alliance website.

The Transformative Learning Center

Lead Teacher

Sarah Klein is the Co-owner of the Transformative Learning Center (with partner Tonya Ensign). Sarah finds her Yoga home in the Ashtanga Lineage. She is moved by the devotion this practice requires and its innate ability to create a moving, breathing, meditation through its direct and clear nature. Sarah has over a decade and a half of Yoga teaching. She is the founder & director of the Ashtanga-Inspired Yoga Alliance certified Yoga School.

Teaching to learn, Sarah takes pride in annually continuing her formal studies with her primary teachers Bhavani Maki, Annie Pace and Larry Schultz (deceased) since 2008.

Sarah has a B.S. in Health Psychology and Human Development, Family System studies from the University of Vermont. She is a E-RYT- 500 with well over 500 hours of training. She is a certified Health and Wellness coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition with continuing education credits in hormonal health and Ayurvedic studies. She is a lifelong learner, who thrives in exploring the mystery of life.  

Sarah effortlessly weaves Sutra through her asana classes and continuously invites students to look deeper into themselves through the wisdom of the practice. Sarah is an Ashtangi at heart, guiding students with the precision that is rooted in tradition, but not averse to pulling out the yoga chair and taking creative liberty to meet students where they are. Sarah’s love and devotion for Yoga shine through her charismatic and effervescent personality.

K-Lea Gifford 

Co-Lead Teacher

K-Lea is a second-generation Yoga instructor having started with her late mother, June LaSalvia in 1983. As a young teenager, K-Lea was surrounded by visiting Yogis.

 

K-Lea graduated from Florida State University in 1986 and is a certified Advanced Alaya Process Practitioner. K-Lea was exposed to several styles of Yoga until she was 22 then narrowed her focus solely to Iyengar Yoga during her pregnancy with her daughter, Chelsea. Seeking to dive deeper into the minutia of alignment, she began training for Iyengar certification and teaching full-time in 1990.

K-Lea's Training: K-Lea attained her first Iyengar certification in 1999. She was the founder/owner of two Yoga studios in Nashville, TN. She is currently CIYT, Iyengar Certified at the Intermediate Junior 2 Level, and has made several trips to Pune, India to study with the Iyengars. She is also a C-IAYT, Certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists and with Yoga Alliance as E-500 RYT/YACEP.

 

Her personal background in gymnastics and certification in body-oriented transpersonal psychotherapy, meditation, and breath-work have enriched her teaching immensely.

Tonya Ensign, PhD

Transformative Learning & Change, Business, Yoga as a Profession

For the past three decades, Dr. Tonya Ensign has been an entrepreneur and a teacher. She has invested in, owned and/or operated more than a dozen start up and growth stage companies since 1996. She has taught leadership in corporate, small business, nonprofit and academic settings from 1990-present and has taught as a part-time university professor since 2010.

 

Tonya began practicing Yoga in the 1990s and began to seriously study Yoga in 2003 prompted by rehab from a life-threatening blood clot in her shoulder. Her first Yoga teacher in Scottsdale, AZ taught her about anatomy and ways to heal herself, and she was hooked. Since then, she has completed many hours of advanced trainings and immersions including studying with Sharath Jois in California and David Swenson in Maui and Scottsdale.

 

Tonya is a lineage-based Yoga teacher (RYT-200) and practitioner who infuses Yoga philosophies and techniques into all her work. She is also board certified in Health and Wellness (NBHWC), a certified Personal and Executive Coach and certified in Positive Psychology. In addition to undergraduate degrees in Finance and International Business and a master’s degree in Organizational Development, she has earned hundreds of hours of continuing education in health sciences, psychology, personal development and other areas.

Tonya has taught at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. She currently teaches and supervises doctoral student research in the PhD in Global Leadership program at Indiana Institute of Technology. She has published research on and is considered an expert in transformative learning, transformative change, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

Practicing an 8-limbed Yogic lifestyle has transformed Tonya and allowed her to share Yoga philosophy, the art and science of Yoga, nutrition science and other wellbeing practices with entrepreneurs, leaders and university students in ways that have transformed them too.

Reuille-Dupont, PhD

Guest Teacher

 

Yoga & Psychology 

Dr. Stacy Reuille-Dupont is a licensed clinical psychologist, licensed addiction counselor, certified personal trainer, certified nutrition coach, and formerly a group exercise instructor, yoga teacher, and fitness center owner.

 

She has over 25 years of experience working in the fitness and wellness industry and over a decade working in traditional mental health clinics, integrated care environments, and building a successful private psychology practice.
